Fractal Flowers: In this 8.5x11 drawing with colored pens and pencil, accompanied by a few poetic reflections on the side, I sought to evoke several layers of perception, in self-similar (i.e. fractal) patterns: the single all-encompassing large flower is "under" the page, and the lines branching all over the flower hold a dual identity as both a walkable path and the natural lines of the flower; the flowers scattered in the spaces as well as "under" the path further play with the viewer's sense of depth and space.L'identité équivoque (The Ambiguous Identity): As the title suggests, the theme of this 8.5x11 drawing with colored pens and pencil is "ambiguous identity"; one of the scenes could be a bright tropical plant or a fireplace; another scene could represent flowers in vases, or candles; the other scene seems at first glance like an ordinary houseplant, but it seems uncannily animated.
