Olivia is one of the Written Word Co-Chairs of HHart. She is a senior majoring in English. She thinks there are few things as special as seeing people share what they've created. The showcase has always been her favorite part of HHart because it brings artists together. She loves seeing how creative people get, and is always amazed at what performers perform, what writers write, and what artists create.
Olivia loves reading through written word submissions the most! It's always interesting to see the different styles and subjects people focus on. Writing can be really vulnerable, and she is so glad to be a part of something that gives people a chance to step outside of their comfort zone. She joined HHart during her freshman year in 2020. She didn't know much about herself then, but she knew she liked writing, and so she submitted her application to be on the committee. Olivia joined HHart because she wanted to be more involved on campus, and she stayed because she loves everything it stands for.
Outside of HHart, Olivia loves reading, and is president of Bookmarked at IU, a fiction book club here on campus. She’s also part of the English Honors program, where she is working on the first draft of a novel she's been writing for four years. Most of her extracurriculars involve some kind of reading/editing/writing, and she loves every minute of it!
